Planned works

Find out about our planned investment work to homes across Northampton.

Abbey, Devonshire and Melbourne House

What do you think to the finished works at Abbey, Melbourne and Devonshire House in St James? All three blocks have received external wall insulation and new windows to make the blocks modern and energy efficient. The communal areas have also been redecorated.

Eleonore House

Eleonore House is an older persons housing scheme.

All facilities have been improved and modernised. This includes level access shower facilities in all apartments, a welcoming reception area, ICT suite and residents lounge. The building now includes six additional apartments and 4 mobility accessible apartments for people with limited accessibility.

Lakeview House

This former care home has been vacant since it was closed in 2009. The site is owned by Northampton Borough Council with NPH acting on their behalf.

NPH have submitted plans approved by the authority to redevelop and replace the site with 45 new homes for older people. Work on the construction is scheduled to start in June 2017. Our contractors Keepmoat will be carrying out the work on NPH’s behalf.

Spring Boroughs

Our partners Willmott Dixon are working in Spring Boroughs on 5 separate redevelopments. These include the addition of 14 three bedroom and 2 four bedroom houses as well as nine 2 bedroom maisonettes with private terraced gardens and 9 one bedroom apartments, as well as a replacement shop in Little Cross Street.

The St Katherine’s Court block of flats is currently receiving external insulation cladding to the outside which will make it more energy efficient. This includes new windows and enclosed balconies for residents. On the inside new lobby areas are being built which will include bike storage for residents.

In Lower Bath Street we have demolished the existing garage site and commenced work on building new homes.

In Little Cross Street we are replacing the current properties which have been vacant for some time with new council housing. St Peter’s House is having a new shop fitted which will replace the existing convenience shop located further down the street. Work on the shop is well underway with the majority of construction completed.

Far Cotton & Delapre

Homes around Far Cotton & Delapre are having a range of improvements from new windows to roof line works, new doors, rendering and external wall insulation.

NPH and our contractors Mears are working on modernising and refurbishing the blocks in Kingsheath.

Homes in the area are receiving refurbishments ranging from roof work to lobby redecoration, new windows, canopies, courtyard enhancements and security doors.

All single person flats at Dovercourt have recently been refurbished with new kitchens and bathrooms. The facility now includes a bike store and new car park.

Toms Close

We have applied to Northampton Borough Council for planning permission to build 21 new homes at Toms Close. There is a huge demand for affordable housing in Northampton and if approved, this development will provide good quality homes in a great location for 21 families in housing need.

We have appointed contractors to carry out the first phase of the redevelopment, which will allow existing residents to remain in Toms Close. Pending planning approval, we will then be in the exciting position of being able to use this land to provide much needed affordable housing in Northampton.
