NPH Staff raise over £1500 for Movember

Throughout the month of November, NPH's staff came together to raise over £1,500 for the Movember foundation. Nearly 20 members of staff took up the challenge of growing the best moustache possible. There were a few unsuccessful attempts but they all did their bit to reach the impressive total.

Fundraising came in from relatives; events in the office and social media. A pub quiz also raised over £600 thanks to Northampton Saints and England Rugby player, Courtney Lawes, who generously donated a signed England jersey and shorts from his Autumn International game against Samoa, as well as his opposite number’s signed shirt.

NPH’s Movember captain, Chris Parr was delighted to see such commitment and humour:

“I’m so proud of the guys for getting involved in this great cause, and for the spouses and partners who put up with them all month! The total exceeded my expectations and is all down to the generosity of our staff and their loved ones.”

Chris continued - “We would like to thank Paul, James and the Lamplighter pub for letting us take over their lovely pub for the evening, and Andy the quizmaster who made sure the night was full of fun and one to remember”.

The Movember foundation aims to stop Men dying young from diseases that could easily be prevented. Men’s health can often take a back seat, studies show many men are reluctant to talk about their health.

As well as raising money for Movember, NPH staff have been supporting Cynthia Spencer Hospice, a local charity in Northampton throughout 2017.
