Families in Ryehill have a new play area for children of all ages.

New play equipment including swings, a multi play unit for children with climbing nets, a toddlers play unit with slide, and football goal posts have been installed at Tresham Green in Ryehill, thanks to funding provided by Northampton Partnership Homes and Northampton Borough Council.

The Mayor of Northampton officially opened the play park on Friday 16th February 2018 in front of many local families:

“Residents told me they wanted to see a brand new play area in Ryehill. I’m delighted that this has been done. I’d like to thank Northampton Partnership Homes and staff member Tracey Thomson for all their efforts in making this happen.”.

Local residents Becky and Karen, Becky who lives in Ryehill with her family, and Karen who works with a local youth group in the area, said the play park is a good thing for everyone living nearby –

“So many families will benefit. It brings community spirit back to the area. We won’t have to walk as far to visit the park. It’s also lovely hearing the children playing from our window.”.

Northampton Partnership Homes’ community regeneration officer Tracey Thomson said:

“It was great to see so many families enjoying the new playground last week, children playing, parents chatting, everyone I spoke to was delighted about the new facility on their doorstep.”.
